This also applies to safety-relevant rail applications. However, the use of AI in rail applications harbors potential safety problems. In their technical article in the May issue of ETR, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Lars Schnieder and Jan Malte Hilgefort discuss these safety problems and how they, in turn, can be protected by artificial intelligence.
