Hansj\u00f6rg Manz was published in the February issue of the magazine &#8220;Der Eisenbahningenieur&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>The localization of rail traffic is currently carried out with track-side sensors, which are partially supported by on-board sensors. The replacement of trackside sensors with satellite-based positioning sensors has been the subject of numerous research projects in the past. The general feasibility of this approach was demonstrated, but no application of secure satellite-based positioning in regular operation could be achieved.
