Lars Schnieder and Dipl.-Ing. Lennart Asbach has been published.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>Light rail systems are the backbone of urban mobility in many metropolitan regions. The operators of light rail systems are faced with the challenge of realizing efficient and high-quality public rail transport in the face of increasing transport demand. The automation of these traffic systems requires networking with road traffic technology.<br\/>The technologies summarized under the term Vehicle to Everything (V2X) are intended to provide a remedy here. V2X enables vehicles to communicate with each other, with roadside communication units, with communication networks or with other road users via a 5G mobile network or WLAN.<\/p>\n\n<p>In their article in issue 1-2\/2022 of &#8220;Eisenbahntechnische Rundschau&#8221;, PD Dr.-Ing. habil. Lars Schnieder and Dipl.-Ing.
