ESE Engineering und Software-Entwicklung GmbH from Braunschweig has been taking part in the "Stadtradeln" and company run for years. "This year, everything is a little different", says Dr.-Ing. habil. Lars Schnieder, managing director of ESE GmbH. "In order to make this year's joint activities special for our team, we quickly set up the fundraising campaign. As a company, we donate one euro per kilometer run or cycled by our employees to the Stiftung Zukunft Wald".
In the course of the 21-day "Stadtradeln" event and a specially initiated company run, ESE employees covered a total of 9,569 kilometers - and thus raised the same amount of money. Lars Schnieder is particularly pleased about the great commitment of his colleagues. " With 51 cycling colleagues and 45 runners, we had a record number of participants this year. In Braunschweig we reached the 31st place in the team ranking in the Stadtradeln competition. Also colleagues from our locations in Berlin and Erlangen took part in the campaign," says Lars Schnieder. "We are very proud of this team performance! Our expectations were more than exceeded!
Elisabeth Hüsing, Director of the Stiftung Zukunft Wald, is also delighted with the donation. "Where there used to be forests in the Harz Mountains, large areas of bare ground are now visible due to climate change and the bark beetle. With the great donation from ESE, we can reforest an area the size of a soccer field in the Harz Mountains.
Lars Schnieder, Managing Director of ESE GmbH, hands over the cheque for € 9,569.00 to Elisabeth Hüsing, Director of the Stiftung Zukunft Wald (Landesforsten-Stiftung) in Braunschweig. The donation will finance the reforestation of over 1,900 trees in the Harz Mountains. Picture source: ESE GmbH
